You did it. You took some time to slow down today and breathe. And it felt good, right? We all need time to take a moment and relax in the midst of busyness and life’s demands. As well as providing thoughtful body care for you to help create reflective moments in your day, we wanted to give you some tips for slowing down and enjoying life.
1. When life seems overwhelming, stop a second and just breathe.
That’s it. Just breathe. This can be especially helpful if you are up against a deadline. Stop, sit at your desk, close your eyes and breathe. The project isn’t going anywhere and after 30 seconds of refreshment, you may go at it again with more focus and clarity. (Grab a bottle of our Inspiration blend to help you through those tough moments!). I find that in my life this tip is super helpful! Often I’m so focused on a thing that I can’t get beyond it and stepping away (Or closing my eyes and breathing!) for a moment really helps to refresh and refocus my brain.
2. Take a relaxing bath or shower.
Hydrotherapy is a thing. There is just something to stepping into the shower and letting the water run over you to relax. Or, if you have more time, take a bath. Light a candle, put on some soft music, grab a book, steep some tea (Or a glass of wine!) and create a time just for you. Reserve a bar of artisan soap and use it only for bath days to create a ritual especially for you (Pick out your favorite scent here!). Even if making time for a bath only happens once a month, at least it happens! ;
Journaling can be very beneficial to help reduce stress, clarify thoughts and feelings, to remember important moments or to work out emotions. It can be helpful to keep a small notebook at your desk at work, or by a nightstand at home. Take a few minutes to jot down how you’re feeling or highlight a event you want to remember. Keep your journal to look back on special moments and memories. However you use journaling, whether online or with pen and paper, and no matter how often or how little, journaling can play a big role in helping you create reflective moments for your soul.
4. Take a walk.
When time and schedule allow, talk a walk. Even if it is just a short one, getting outside, being in nature and letting your thoughts wander can do a world of good for your body, mind and soul!
