The tagline for my business is ‘Thoughtful Body Care’.
There is a lot, it seems, floating around nowadays about mindfulness and being mindful and practicing mindfulness in your everyday life.
For me, Ruministics, is not about being mindful, per say, but thoughtful.
What’s the difference?
To me, thoughtfulness is the act of caring, of being kind, of being more aware of yourself and those around you. It is an attitude of thinking of others, not just yourself.
Mindfulness, to me, is more of an internal, about me, meditative quality and how I can improve my life; a seeking, searching for transcendance FROM the ordinary.
Thoughtfulness, in contrast, is being more present IN the ordinary, daily life, and of how I treat others and how I treat myself. An awareness of life, of beauty, of gentleness, kindness, caring, of peace.
One definition of Thoughtfulness is: Given to or chosen or made with heedful anticipation of the needs and wants of others.
I have a long way to go in putting thoughtfulness in practice, in my personal life and in my business, but I’ve started. Some days are easier than others, but, again, I’ve started.
Won’t you join me?
