Valentine's Day is just around the corner!
I was single for a good portion of my life and am still newly married. Valentine's Day for most of my single life was definitely 'Singles Awareness Day'. It was ok. I didn't mind. I had some good Valentine's Day, even being single.
Valentine's is my dad's favorite holiday because it's about LOVE. And love is the most important thing in the world because God is love (Which is really why my dad likes it!). So my dad thoughtfully goes out and buys cards and candy for EVERYONE in my family. And by everyone, I mean, everyone. My mom, of course, all his kids, their spouses and grandkids. It's super special and I love (Love!) it.
Now being married, Valentine's Day takes on the romantic edge...except last year my 'valentine' had jury duty, so he spent a romantic day at the court room.
So this year I plan to make it more special for him because, well, why not? Maybe I'll put on the scent I wore when we were dating, make something fun for dinner, give a card and a little gift and give him a big smack on the lips.
Short, sweet and simple.
What are you doing for Valentine's Day?!?
